PRIMARY FUNCTION:

A welder must be able to perform the following processes & procedures:

  1. Possess/demonstrates an understanding of welding equipment & accessories.
  2. Manually TIG weld dissimilar metals i.e., cupronickel to stainless and stainless to stainless.
    1. Demonstrate the ability to maintain weld quality and characteristics.
    2. Ability to accurately and efficiently use basic fixtures and hand tools.
  3. Must be experienced/demonstrate ability to produce quality welds using TIG and MIG processes.
    1. Must be able to identify and correct basic issues affecting weld quality.
    2. Able to operate required machinery in the department.
  4. Desire to perform at the highest level of competence and expedience at all times.
    1. Conscientious of product quality and productivity to promote the growth of HTP
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following is a brief description of some of the duties and responsibilities but is not limited to:
  1. Responsible for good quality welding practices.
  2. Inspects completed product to ensure it meets all quality standards and specifications.
  3. Communicates with fellow workers and superiors to maintain safety and quality.
  4. Suggests production and quality improvement ideas to the Supervisor.
  5. Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
  6. Responsible for housekeeping in assigned work areas.
  7. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures by wearing all safety personal protective equipment "PPE" to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  8. Must be able to read blueprints.
I. Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner as determined by departmental goals.

J. Will function as a part of a "Team approach" to accomplish departmental goals and standards.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

The following is a brief description of some of the processes in the technical expertise duties but is not limited to:
  1. A thorough understanding/demonstrating of proper welding practices and procedures.
  2. Must be able to identify and correct basic issues affecting weld quality.
  3. Ability to set-up computerized machines.
  4. Ability to operate various types of bending and flaring and shaping equipment.

High School Diploma or GED with technical training

Ability to operate bending and welding and punching equipment

Certificates: Welding ASME

Ability to work a flexible work schedule as required.

Ability to communicate and interact effectively in all situations.

Minimum one (1) year welding experience of similar and bi-metals

All qualified candidates will be required to perform a welding test.

P = Preferred or R = Required

  4. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - N/A
  5. Physical Demands - Ability to reach and use arms, hands and fingers. Ability to hear and smell.
  6. Weight Limitations - Up to 50 lbs.
  7. Vision Requirements - Close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
  8. Work Environment - Moderate Noise Conditions. Work in areas that may be noisy and dirty. Work in ambient temperatures ranging from very cold to very hot. Some exposure to fumes and airborne particles. Interaction with electric, gas and vibrating equipment. Ability to perform both indoor and outdoor tasks requiring continuous physical activity, sometimes of a strenuous nature.
  9. Personal, Protective Equipment - Ability to wear safety glasses, welding helmet, gloves, and other job related personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  10. Work Schedule - Work various shifts and overtime as needed.
