Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, people-focused HR Specialist & Office Manager to support our Washington, DC team. In this dual-capacity role, you will serve as the primary resource for HR processes and office operations, ensuring employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape company culture and enhance the employee experience within a fast-growing environment.
This position is fully on-site, Monday through Friday (not hybrid or remote).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment coordination, onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, performance review support, and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Develop and implement employee engagement and welfare initiatives that strengthen a positive workplace culture.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits, ensuring compliance with HR best practices and local labor regulations.
- Coordinate closely with the international HR team.
- Provide HR insights, updates, and recommendations to leadership.
- Oversee daily office operations to keep the workspace functioning efficiently.
- Manage office supplies, vendor relationships, and facility-related needs.
- Plan team gatherings, off sites, and company events in collaboration with leadership.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen (mandatory due to work in the defense industry).
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in Human Resources, Recruitment, Office Management, or People Operations (startup experience is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and benefits administration.
- Proven ability to balance strategic HR initiatives with hands-on execution.
- Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for people and culture.
- Comfortable multitasking and operating in a fast-paced, growing organization.
