Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Pharmacist to oversee all aspects of pharmacy practice while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws as well as corporate policies. This position will involve optimizing the pharmacy's financial performance through effective budget management, staff training, and exceptional customer service. You will also manage prescription pricing, inventory control, and participate in approved clinical services, all while embodying our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all staff pharmacist duties and serve as a role model for the pharmacy team; address customer complaints and enhance workflow efficiency to minimize wait times.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans and initiatives in collaboration with the division pharmacy department.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities of a registered pharmacist in accordance with state laws and company policies.
  • Lead the pharmacy team in achieving inventory goals and prevent unnecessary overstock, ensuring compliance with ordering and record-keeping procedures.
  • Adhere to all corporate protocols regarding controlled substances.
  • Monitor third-party profitability and address issues, rejections, and audits promptly.
  • Schedule pharmacy staff effectively to control labor costs.
  • Maintain comprehensive pharmacy records as required by law and corporate guidelines.
  • Steer the pharmacy towards meeting budgetary goals related to labor, volume, inventory, and sales.
  • Conduct outreach to local physicians and other community stakeholders through effective detailing.
  • Engage in public health initiatives and disease management services actively.
  • Travel independently as required to meet business needs.
  • Supervise, coach, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports, providing timely feedback.
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment.
  • Manage conflicts in a constructive, non-confrontational manner.
  • Act with integrity regarding sensitive customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek help as needed to resolve issues effectively.
  • Provide specialized support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an accredited U.S. School of Pharmacy.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant retail experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • License must be in good standing.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and documents.
  • Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Dedication to superior customer service.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Willingness to engage in continued education as needed.
  • Participation in clinical programs as per company training.

Desired

  • Relevant Pharmacy Board Certification(s).
  • Experience in business management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
