Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the role will be developing new or enhanced insurance products that improve the FL Homeowners line of business using contract language, underwriting rules/guidelines, competitive intelligence, and actuarial pricing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as subject matter expert for program. Lead the administration and development of products, ensuring successful implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Assist Personal Lines product leader to execute business strategy to drive profitable growth.
  • Own the launch of a new program from design through delivery.
  • Create and revise policy forms and manual rules to offer market-leading coverages.
  • Prepare filings and responses to negotiate approval from state's Department of Insurance.
  • Collaborate with Claims, Sales, and Underwriting teams on solutions to emerging issues.
  • Extract and manipulate data to assess production and loss results to identify root causes and underlying trends. Recommend actions to elevate performance and meet company goals.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to solve problems by evaluating complex data.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and market research utilizing vendor tools and external information to develop insights. Stay informed on relevant industry and state specific news.
  • Interpret insurance forms, laws, and regulations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with IT to manage projects and support enhancements providing business requirements and performing User Acceptance Testing.
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, business, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or related fields.
  • 5+ years' property insurance experience with at least 3 years in homeowners product development/management.
  • CPCU, ACAS/FCAS, or active pursuit of designation preferred.

  • Prepare clear, accurate, and concise analyses and reports.
  • Exercise good judgment and use critical thinking skills to arrive at solutions.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to execute projects and key initiatives.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities including influence, building consensus, and mentoring.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment and competing demands.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Skills Preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the Florida residential property insurance market.
  • Experience with comparative raters and the independent agent distribution channel.
  • Experience conducting competitive and market analysis.
  • Intermediate SQL skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
