Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior BAS Controls Technician in Honolulu to lead building automation system installations and commissioning for commercial facilities across the Hawaiian Islands.

Impact

• Reduce energy consumption by 25-35% through advanced control strategies and system integration

• Ensure reliable system operation in Hawaii's unique tropical climate conditions

• Support sustainable building initiatives across Pacific Island commercial properties

• Lead technical expertise for complex multi-building campus automation projects

Responsibilities

• Commission and program building automation systems using Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, and Siemens platforms

• Troubleshoot complex control sequences and optimize system performance for energy efficiency

• Configure and integrate HVAC, lighting, and security systems through BACnet and Modbus protocols

• Perform system commissioning and verification testing for new construction and retrofit projects

• Lead field technician training on advanced control systems and troubleshooting techniques

• Coordinate with mechanical engineers and facility managers on system design and operation

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide ongoing technical support

• Respond to critical system issues at high-priority commercial and institutional facilities

Requirements
Must-Haves

• 7+ years experience in building automation systems programming and commissioning

• Expert knowledge of Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys, or Siemens platforms

• Strong understanding of BACnet, Modbus, and network communication protocols

• Experience with HVAC control sequences and energy management strategies

• Valid Hawaii driver's license and ability to work across multiple islands

Nice-to-Haves

• Tridium Niagara or Johnson Controls certified technician credentials

• OSHA 30 certification and NECA/IBEW electrical training background

• Experience with critical facilities including hospitals or data centers
