The Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) seeks to recruit a leader who will service as Director of the Division of Pediatric Neurology.
The Division of Pediatric Neurology is currently comprised of more than 20 faculty members who are committed to the departmental and institutional missions of excellence in clinical care, education, and scholarship, with broad clinical and research expertise in treatment of childhood neurological conditions such as epilepsy, pediatric stroke, neuromuscular disorders, headache, movement disorders, demyelinating conditions, neurodevelopmental, neurogenetic disorders, and global child neurology. The Division supports a Child Neurology Residency program, with 4 residents per year, and ACGME-approved fellowship programs in Clinical Neurophysiology, Epilepsy, Neuromuscular, Stroke and Sleep, as well as a non-ACGME-approved training program in pediatric movement disorders and demyelinating/white matter disorders.
With dramatic growth of the faculty, training programs, and research productivity over the past decade, the Division of Pediatric Neurology is now positioned for additional growth and leadership on a national and international level. Our pediatric epilepsy center is a National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) Level 4 center and currently performs the most epilepsy surgeries in the state. The division has a variety of subspecialty clinics in stroke, Rett Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, Angelman's Syndrome, muscular dystrophy, leukodystrophy, and Tourette's Syndrome, as well as satellite clinics throughout Tennessee. The division supports robust NIH funded research efforts in pediatric epilepsy, stroke, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as Rett syndrome. Unique national and international research platforms in stroke, neurogenetics, and epilepsy offer opportunities for junior investigators to develop their careers. There is a comprehensive pediatric physician-scientist training program that facilitates transition to independent research careers.
Academic rank, track, and compensation will be dependent upon qualifications. VUMC offers a generous benefits package to its faculty.

Responsibilities of the Division Director include representing and leading the division's faculty and staff, providing leadership, strategic planning, and oversight of the division's initiatives, and collaborating with peer leaders to implement, evaluate, and improve the division's clinical, educational, and research programs.
