Performs receiving, storing, inventorying, ordering, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Plans and arranges layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Accurately and properly receives, places the product into stock, issues product from inventory, prepares product for shipment, and ships product using a computer, barcode scanner, or other methods. Coordinates and arranges for product shipment with a variety of carriers.
- Issues product to "kits" or "picks" product for shipment (may require assembly of components) per shop order or shipper. Ensures correct parts, correct quantity, certifications, and test reports, as specified on the order, or documented on instructions/procedures, accompany the order. Ensures the specified shipping method is used or coordinates with sales personnel when specified shipping method must vary from order requirements.
- Investigates, develops, and recommends or implements solutions to problems with care and preservation of items received, stored, packaged, transported, and shipped. Coordinates with freight carriers to resolve discrepancies.
- Uses computers, weight scales, printers, and network programs to prepare barcodes, process FEDEX and UPS shipments, and access inventory or shipment transactions.
- Traces the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve differences.
- Maintains expendable shipping supplies inventory and requisitions supplies as required.
- Performs cycle count of warehouse items and work-in-process to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintains the area in a safe and clean manner.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, packing lists, shippers, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete bills of lading. Ability to speak effectively, clearly, and courteously to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to freight carriers and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Able to drive forklift, valid driver's license.
