Staff Accountant- General Accounting

System One is currently seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant.

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position involves preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, assisting with audits, and supporting various financial analysis efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and monitor actual performance against budget.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of closing entries and schedules.
  • Assist in the coordination and completion of audits and tax filings.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for management and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • At least three years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
