Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec's culture. We operate under a sell-manage-do culture, and so we expect that you'd work on challenging technical projects while leveraging your existing knowledge and experience to help Geosyntec expand its current practices and capabilities through business development and client management. You may also be asked to take on project management responsibilities, along with staff management and development, and mentoring tasks.
Some of the key responsibilities may include:
- Project and task management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Preparing and/or implementing remediation designs and strategies for soil, sediment, and groundwater remediation projects;
- Business development; including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
- Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
- Work plan development, data evaluation, and technical report writing on a variety of contaminated site assessment, remediation, and operations and maintenance projects;
- Reviewing and managing written document production;
- Preparing for and participating in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
- At times, this job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
- Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil or chemical engineering, or a related field of study. (required)
- Advanced degree in a related field of study. (desirable but not essential)
- Professional registration (i.e., P.E.) (required)
- At least 10 years (15+ desirable) of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Strong experience managing contaminated site investigation & remediation projects, with a particular emphasis on the private sector e.g. oil & gas, chemicals, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, etc. (required)
- Detailed understanding NJDEP and USEPA regulations. (required)
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
- Demonstrated success in business development, management of clients, and leadership. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
- Field work and overnight travel may be required.
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
