Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting clerk to join our team in Bethesda, Maryland. This is a contract position that requires a strong ability to manage financial transactions and ensure accurate record-keeping. The ideal candidate will excel in data entry, customer service, and processing invoices while contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Input accounts payable data into accounting systems with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Organize and maintain financial documents through scanning and filing processes.
  • Handle customer service inquiries professionally and provide timely assistance.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and problem resolution.
  • Process invoices and reconcile discrepancies to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including payment tracking and reporting.
  • Utilize QuickBooks and other financial software to manage transactions effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
  • Monitor and report on the status of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Support the team with additional administrative and accounting tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with invoice processing and financial record management.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment.
