Job Summary

The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the face of the organization for patients seeking diagnostic services. This role is responsible for drawing high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and delivering a professional, compassionate patient experience while maintaining strict standards for safety, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection, including pediatric and geriatric draws, following established clinical and forensic procedures.
  • Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.
  • Maintain required records and documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures to patients.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, patient privacy, and data accuracy.
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
  • Support staffing needs by working at doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations as required.
  • Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple locations as needed.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.
  • Commitment to company policies, including dress code, employee health and safety, and everyday excellence principles.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, overtime, and variable schedules as required.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Experience working across multiple patient service center or in-office phlebotomy locations.
  • Prior experience in environments requiring frequent schedule or location changes.

Compliance & Work Expectations
  • Must be on time, work all scheduled shifts, and remain for the entire shift.

  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
  • Bus, Uber, or rideshare services are not considered reliable transportation for this role.
  • This is a hospital site that requires additional credentialing.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
