Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs both general mammography imaging procedures as well as advanced procedures and/or Breast Ultrasound exams to generate imaging information for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of patients. Performs mammography exams in accordance with MQSA, state regulations, and health centers' established policies and procedures. Also performs advanced level procedures such as stereotactic biopsies and/or breast ultrasound to include ultrasound guided breast biopsies and/or other mammography intervention procedures under guidance of certified radiologist. Operates equipment safely and maintains ALARA standards while performing mammography and any other types of radiological procedures. Reports to either a Radiology Supervisor or Regional Radiology Manager.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required. Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Must be licensed in Radiography for a minimum of one year and have successfully passed the ARRT exam in Mammography. Continuing education and continuing experience requirements as defined by the American college of Radiology (ACR) must be maintained. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 1-year experience as a mammography technologist preferred.

General knowledge of healthcare delivery services. Knowledge of Mammography equipment and MQSA and ACR regulations. Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Safety. Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds. Ability to complete Mammography exams in a timely manner even under stressful condition. Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment.

The hourly range for this role is $43.02 to $60.04 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Atrius Health complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
