Lead Backend Engineer for Identity Security and Intelligent Systems

We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer who is passionate about working on multi-agent systems, LLM-based automation, and Model Context Protocols (MCP) to revolutionize how access control intelligence is constructed and executed.
This is a unique opportunity to be at the cutting edge of LLM research and backend systems engineering, making impactful contributions to scalable architecture design and intelligent agent development that reason, decide, and act autonomously.
Your Role Will Include:
- Developing APIs and backend services, as well as test and evaluation frameworks in Python/Golang to facilitate agentic workflows.
- Transforming LLM-based capabilities into the identity access pipeline through prototyping and productization.
- Creating agent orchestration layers utilizing frameworks like LangGraph or AutoGen.
- Designing systems that prioritize context-awareness, memory, and autonomous decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in backend development.
- Strong expertise in one or more programming languages, particularly Python, Golang, or Java.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and Microservices Architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and knowledge of IAM services.
- A keen interest in or experience with GenAI technologies, multi-agent systems, or prompt orchestration.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ownership of product features from ideation through to deployment.
The compensation for this role can vary depending on several factors, including the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. The expected base salary range for this position is $154,000 - $210,000 USD. This range does not include additional variable compensation.

At Veza, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. Discuss the reasonable expected pay range with your recruiter, noting that factors like experience and qualifications influence your total compensation. This position is also eligible for equity and a competitive benefits package.
