Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the Controller. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of accuracy, solid understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare month end journal entries, accruals and adjustments
  • Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process, including responsibility for account analysis and account reconciliation
  • Reconcile bank transactions and bank statements, including matching daily transactions to proper support, researching items when necessary
  • Maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation schedules as internal policy and US GAAP dictates
  • Review of AP and AR transactions as needed
  • Enter AP invoices or create AR invoices as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Participate in financial audits
  • Assist with special projects
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or determined by management

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • 3 to 5 years of Full Cycle Accounting or related experience
  • Restaurant/Hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Multi-unit experience preferred
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP system
  • Highly familiar with spreadsheet creation, formatting, and functionality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience in hospitality preferred but not required
  • Superior organization skills
  • Reliable with patience and professionalism

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position required the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 lbs.
