What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Design and construct intelligent, autonomous AI systems to push the limits of enterprise-grade agent technology.

• Lead the creation of scalable, secure, cloud-native frameworks that enable AI agents to reason, plan, act, and collaborate effectively in production environments.

• Create foundational runtime components, automation tools, and infrastructures that drive innovative GenAI and Agentic AI solutions.

• Collaborate closely with AI researchers, platform teams, and product leaders to transition advanced agent capabilities from concept to production within Teradata's data and AI ecosystem.

• Help our enterprise customers leverage resilient, governed AI agents to achieve significant business outcomes.

• Collaborate across research, architecture, platform engineering, and product teams to shape the future of enterprise AI.

• This position reports to the AI engineering leadership team in Teradata's global engineering organization.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and deploying autonomous AI agents at scale.

• Expertise in constructing agent-based architectures and runtime components for cutting-edge AI/LLM systems.

• Hands-on experience with implementing governance, safety, and compliance measures in agentic AI environments.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with product leaders, architects, and platform teams to define enterprise-level AI capabilities.

• Strong technical expertise in intelligent automation, generative AI, and agent-based system design.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a closely related field.

• 3-5+ years of experience in software architecture, backend development, or AI infrastructure, with proficient Python skills and knowledge of Java, Go, and C++.

• In-depth expertise in agent development, LLM integration, prompt engineering, runtime systems, and AI tooling.

• Experience with MCP servers, vector databases, RAG systems, graph-based memory, and NLP frameworks.

• Ability to design fundamental agentic capabilities like memory management, context handling, observability, and identity.

• Solid background in distributed systems, backend services, API design, and cloud-native deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Expertise in containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable infrastructure in production.

• Excellent communication skills, with strong documentation habits and the ability to mentor or work collaboratively across teams.

• A passion for building safe, human-aligned autonomous systems and enhancing open-source tools to drive innovation.

Pay Rate: 199500.0000 - 249400.0000 - 299300.0000 Annually
