We are currently looking for innovative data scientists to join our cutting-edge research and engineering group.

In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team focused on Physics (Hydrodynamics, Acoustics, RF and EO/IR propagation, among other domains) and Machine Learning. You will design, implement, and deliver state-of-the-art Signal Processing solutions aimed at tackling complex problems of national significance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify, prototype, and deploy suitable machine learning solutions using current methods and comprehensive data analysis.

  • Apply advanced statistical concepts, algorithms, and techniques to enrich unstructured, classified big data sources, generating actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with a team of applied scientists, engineers, researchers, and program managers to innovate machine learning solutions for novel challenges.

  • Engage in continuous learning and development to stay updated on the latest advancements in AI/ML and data science, ensuring effective and impactful methodologies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Deep understanding of machine learning theory, concepts, and algorithms.

  • Proficiency in modern data exploration techniques and tools.

  • Experience in developing and implementing machine learning solutions.

  • Familiarity with contemporary AI/ML algorithms and libraries.

  • Fluent in C/C++ and Python.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Required on-site full-time work at our San Diego, CA office.

  • Must possess an active US Government Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in conducting research to develop data science solutions.

  • Knowledge of implementing advanced physical and mathematical concepts in software applications.

  • Experience with sensor data and relevant signal processing techniques.

  • Familiarity with Large Language Model (LLM) development and deployment.

  • Experience with Fortran or Matlab is a plus.

Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not an assurance of compensation. Offers are based on various factors including job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
