The Radar Mechanical Design Department specializes in the mechanical design and integration of advanced radar systems, including phased array radars and support modules. We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical CAD Engineer to contribute to our radar development programs. In this role, you will lead the design and documentation process, ensuring optimal performance of mechanical hardware.

What You Will Do:

  • Collaborate with engineers to propose, design, develop, and document detailed mechanical designs and large assemblies using CREO.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and suppliers to model and document technical data packages, ensuring compliance with design requirements.

  • Manage large assemblies in CREO while optimizing workflows for drafting and modeling methodologies.

  • Ensure timely updates and distribution of engineering documentation as per engineering change notices.

  • Stay updated on documentation standards per ASME Y14.24 to mediate conflicts in program documentation.

  • Provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with product standards and remove roadblocks in the design process.

  • Support product development from initial concepts to detailed releases, adhering to program schedules.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 5 years of experience.

  • 8 or more years of mechanical engineering experience.

  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design drafting and development, preferably related to defense or aerospace systems.

  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, specifically CREO, coupled with experience in large assembly management and PTC Windchill Product Data Management.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analyses, and ASME Y-14.5 standards.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Familiarity with manufacturing techniques and assembly best practices.

  • Experience driving improvements in modeling and design processes.

  • Knowledge of military or aerospace specifications and industry design standards.

  • A strong technical background with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while serving as the design authority with excellent communication skills.

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
