We are seeking a Senior Staff of Software Engineering to join our product development teams in Austin, TX. Cirrus Logic develops advanced mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs) that often deploy embedded real-time software, including implementation of signal processing algorithms, to complement analog and digital sub-systems.
You will join a team of gifted Software Engineers who work alongside teams of Analog and Digital Engineers through all stages of product development, from concept to delivery. You will have the opportunity to lead, conduct research and/or own significant aspects of ground-breaking projects while you use your collaborative skills within this position working in an extraordinary environment surrounded by talented engineers. Designation will depend on skills/experience.
Responsibilities
  • Own significant aspects of the R&D for IP in world-class ICs with embedded software
  • Model, assess, value and design/conduct experiments related to internal/external IP
  • Liaise cross functionally to understand and meet software and other requirements
  • Interface/collaborate with and document/present to internal and external customers
  • Assist with and participate in the internal product development processes/practices
  • Coach and mentor software engineers contributing to the development of advanced ICs
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of direct related experience and Relevant Master's or Doctorate degree
  • Experience fostering and/or participating in engineering research and/or development
  • Deep knowledge of signal processing including DSP for audio/non-audio applications
  • Knowledge of and experience with IP creation/technology innovation in IC development
  • Experience with DSP/math, system modelling software/tools - MATLAB/Simulink etc.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, especially in the context of mixed-signal ICs
  • Experience with processor architectures/efficient real-time software implementation
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience leading significant aspects of IC projects deploying embedded software
  • Experience working in a global multi-site work environment
  • Experience with embedded real-time signal processing software implementation
  • Experience deploying embedded software in a mixed-signal IC/SoC context
  • Excellent programming skills (preferably in C) and knowledge of software development
