Description
- Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric stages using a variety of standardized tools and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment strategies that not only cater to immediate needs but also address long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy focused on various aspects of communication, including language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Work collaboratively with a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical professionals, and families to ensure comprehensive care.
- Instruct patients and their families on strategies to promote progress beyond clinical interactions.
- Conduct inpatient evaluations and interventions as needed to ensure seamless patient care.
- Keep detailed and timely documentation in accordance with all relevant guidelines and regulations.
- Commit to continuous learning through professional development and peer interactions.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who have not achieved ASHA certification yet.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Strong foundation in evidence-based practices for patients of all ages, with in-depth knowledge of developmental and acquired communication disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Capability to adjust therapy approaches to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Robust clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and adherence to documentation standards.
