Located in Plymouth Meeting, PA, Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital is a multi-service animal hospital that offers a wide range of services, including general practice, specialty services, 24/7 emergency care, boarding, grooming, daycare, and rehabilitation. What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our doctors and patients across various services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing and assisting with inpatient and outpatient care, which includes triage, diagnostics, treatments, and discharges.
  • Assisting with emergency cases, anesthesia, and surgical preparation/monitoring.
  • Managing labs, bloodwork, radiographs, and medication administration (IV, IM, SQ, oral).
  • Providing clear and compassionate communication and education to clients.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and patient logs (SOAPs).
  • Monitoring hospitalized patients, collaborating during rounds, and supporting overnight emergencies as required.
  • Participating in the training and mentorship of new team members.
  • Contributing to the organization, cleanliness, and inventory of your department.

You will also have the opportunity to cross-train in various specialties such as ER, anesthesia, surgery, and internal medicine, allowing you to broaden your skill set and explore different areas of interest.

Anticipated Schedule

This is a full-time position with the following schedule: Sunday - Wednesday: 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting at $21-$26/hr, depending on experience and credentials, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. At Hickory, we care for our team with the same compassion we provide our patients. You'll benefit from:
