You will play a crucial role in patient care by conducting comprehensive eye exams and fostering strong relationships through education and personalized service.
- Conduct detailed eye exams to assess vision and eye health.
- Build long-term relationships with patients through excellent care and professional guidance.
- Perform thorough verbal interviews to gather health and ocular history, identifying medical issues and patient needs.
- Educate patients on their options for addressing ametropias, and manage ocular diseases while ensuring they understand their care plans.
- Enhance patient loyalty and promote the values of the profession and Acuity Eyecare Group.
- Administer vision tests and interpret results for accurate diagnoses.
- Identify sight problems including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and other eye diseases.
- Prescribe appropriate eyewear, contact lenses, and necessary medications.
- Offer treatment recommendations, including specialized solutions for vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation.
- Provide essential pre- and postoperative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract or refractive procedures.
- Evaluate patients for systemic diseases like diabetes and ensure timely referrals to other healthcare professionals.
- Promote eye health through effective patient education, including guidance on contact lens care and regular eye examination schedules.
- Collaborate with opticians and sales staff to recommend the latest technology in lenses for optimal patient outcomes.
- Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of all optometric state board exams.
