The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and world-class aquatics facility that offers year round aquatic and fitness programming to children, youth, families and seniors, so that we can ensure that all generations can achieve the benefits of healthy living habits, regular exercise, and sports training.
OUR MISSION: To help everyone achieve their personal best by providing the finest aquatic educational, competitive, therapeutic and recreational programs.
Description
Join us on our mission to make every child water safe. The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center is proud to partner with organizations like the LA84 Foundation, the Pasadena Child Health Foundation, the WHH Foundation and the Weingart Foundation to provide each 3rd grader in the Pasadena Unified School District instruction on how to swim.

Pay Rate: $19- $21 per hour, DOE
This position is responsible for assisting in the overall education of our Swim Lessons Outreach Program. The main focus for our instructors is to educate new swimmers how to be water safe and develop the necessary skills to excel in the water.
This position requires a positive attitude and a strong passion for aquatics and working with children. Good leadership, a well groomed personal appearance, a professional attitude, and a strong and self-motivated work ethic are critical to succeed in this role. It is necessary to have the ability to work well with people, to teach, motivate, instill loyalty and trust, and to insure a positive working environment. It is also necessary to be able to effectively enforce policies and procedures.
Additional Information:
- All swim levels welcome
- Training is provided
- Part/Full time positions available
Qualifications:
- Must be available during the 2025-2026 Pasadena Unified Calendar school year.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
- Water Safety Instructor Certification (WSI) is recommended
- Setting up/cleaning for lessons every shift
- Pre Testing/Post Testing students
- Teaching children how to be water safe/ teach skills that are going to allow them to explore
and exercise in the water - Being a positive role model and pushing the students to achieve more than they thought
possible - Attending quarterly family BBQ's to meet with the students and their families in hopes that
they continue to utilize our facility for their aquatic needs - Know your weekly schedule
- Report to work on time and in uniform
- Clock in and out for each shift
- Use time productively
- Teach fun and safe swim lessons
