1st shift - 7:00AM to 3:30PM (Monday through Friday)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Machinist - A is primarily responsible for the following:
  • Completing all set-ups, regardless of difficulty level, and operating equipment as designated, to meet production requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Complete complex set-ups of equipment, and/or program development in a timely and efficient manner to prepare for production run.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally during NPI process to determine proper set-up and operating procedures.
  • Make suggestions regarding tooling, fixtures, etc. to increase efficiency and provide ideas to improve operations.
  • Load/feed machine as required to produce finished product.
  • Maintain production flow as required to meet established schedules.
  • Perform first piece and/or in-process inspection for dimensions of parts produced and maintain documentation as required.
  • Keep count of parts and maintain accurate records in ERP, as well as other supporting documentation.
  • Follow specifications and procedures for manufacturing, i.e., production checklist, work orders, operator instructions and set-up notes.
  • Ability to recall CMM program(s) and properly identify the required fixturing referenced within.
  • Operate CMM machines as required to produce the finished product.
  • Ability to save and interpret reported CMM data, while ensuring the integrity of the recorded information.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ability to modify and adjust computer programs as directed by SGL or Programming.
  • Identification of quality problems in materials and taking the initiative to correct.
  • Properly utilize evacuation system to minimize exposure to hazards.
  • Provide accurate and complete turnover from shift to shift.
  • Good housekeeping, safe work ethics, and conducting self in a professional manner.
  • Proper handling of all materials, parts, and equipment to prevent damage and loss of finished product.
  • Represent the company, as required, during customer, internal and ISO audits, as well as FDA inspections.
  • Understand the sensitivity of the data handled by systems under your control and take appropriate measures to protect it.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • EDUCATION: High School diploma, general education degree (GED) and/or trade school graduate preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: 5+ year(s) experience in a manufacturing environment, setting-up and operating manual and/or CNC equipment, equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted OR demonstrated ability to execute the Essential Functions for this position. Internships and PT experience acceptable.
