Pay: $21.49 - $27.94 / hour. Pay is based on relevant experience.
Summary:
Join our dedicated team as an Urgent Care Specialist, where you will provide crucial emergency and urgent patient care under the guidance of healthcare providers. This role is essential in ensuring our patients receive the care and comfort they need.
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient flow in the urgent care department to enhance efficiency and keep patients informed about their wait times.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly alert healthcare providers if a patient shows signs of distress.
- Prepare patients for examinations by assisting them before, during, and after their visits with healthcare providers.
- Perform medical procedures including inserting Foley catheters, complex splinting, and drawing blood or starting IVs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam and treatment rooms; adhere to equipment cleaning protocols and manage supply levels effectively.
- Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment to operate in a fast-paced environment, addressing patient needs independently when required.
Requirements:
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, valid before the start date.
- IV proficiency as per department guidelines required within 6 months of employment.
