Position: Hematology Oncology Physician
Location: Alamogordo, NM
CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico is seeking a dedicated board-certified or board-eligible Hematology/Oncology physician to join our established practice. Our center provides comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology services in a patient-centered environment. The clinic is equipped with:
- 10 treatment beds
- Two private chemotherapy rooms
- Access to advanced technology including a new linear accelerator, 64-slice CT, and 1.5T MRI
Patients benefit from a multidisciplinary team that includes:
- Oncology-certified nurses
- Clinical nurse specialist
- Nurse navigator
- Strong surgical and specialty support
The practice involves 70% oncology and 30% hematology, with all chemotherapy delivered outpatient. Physicians typically see 14-16 patients per day, including three new consults, and perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies. Call is shared between the medical oncologist and CNS, with after-hours triage handled through an answering service.
This position is tailored for energetic, quality-focused providers who adhere to NCCN guidelines and thrive in a collaborative, close-knit team. With strong community demand and immediate patient volume, you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on cancer care in Southern New Mexico.
Position Highlights:
- Full-Time Position
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday includes a half-day for administrative hours
- Shared Call
- J-1 and H-1B Visa sponsorship available
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base plus model - $700k+ earning potential
- Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000

- 27 PTO Days + 8 HWAL (sick) Days + 5 CME Days = 40 days of paid leave per year
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or board-eligible by the ABIM
- Hematology Oncology fellowship trained
- Must possess an unrestricted New Mexico Medical License or be eligible for licensure in New Mexico
