Full-Time Design Advisor

This is a FULL-TIME retail position requiring 30-40 hours of work per week, with 2 guaranteed days off. Evening and weekend availability is essential for this role.

Base Pay: $22.00 per hour

Location: Joss & Main - Oakbrook Center, Oak Brook, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Be the Customer's Trusted Advisor: Engage with customers by listening and understanding their needs. Lead design consultations that are conversational and insightful.
• Turn Vision Into Reality: Use your design expertise to create aesthetic and functional spaces, guiding customers through selections of color, materials, and product choices.
• Inspire with Tech + Tools: Utilize our design software to create 2D/3D room views, mood boards, and compelling presentations.
• Always Be Designing (and Selling): Each interaction is a chance to foster trust and drive sales by converting design dreams into purchasable plans.
• Multitask with Purpose: Balance various tasks and appointments with a positive attitude and adaptable mindset.
• Be a Team Player: Collaborate with the team on visual merchandising, inventory, and sharing innovative design ideas.
• Drive Sales with Style: Proactively seek leads and assist customers in making informed decisions to realize their design goals.

You Will Excels In This Role If You Have:

• Sales Experience: 2+ years in sales, preferably in a design-focused or high-end retail environment.
• Design Knowledge: At least 1 year of experience in interior design, architecture, or graphic design, along with a strong understanding of spatial planning and color theory.
• Flexibility: Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet customer needs.
• Tech Comfort: Proficiency in design software and POS systems.
• Team Spirit: Strength in working collaboratively within a high-performing team.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to confidently connect and guide customers.
• A Proactive Mindset: Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, effectively prioritizing tasks.
• Design Passion: A degree in design is a plus, but enthusiasm and skill are the most important

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, and reaching; occasional sitting, climbing, and moving.
• Mobility for stooping, kneeling, and crouching regularly.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color vision and depth perception.
• Comfortable in varying temperatures and noise levels.
