As a Mortgage Liquidation Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:
- Assisting members in the timely resolution of delinquent or defaulted mortgage obligations.
- Minimizing the credit union's exposure to loss by following all investor guidelines and policy/procedures to ensure all due diligence is followed when collecting on delinquent or foreclosing on mortgage loans.
- Preparing monthly investor and status reports on loans in liquidation and foreclosure for management.
This is an exempt position. The starting salary is $67,469.87 however, actual placement within the range will be determined individually based on your experience relative to organizational needs and internal salary equity.
Schedule:
Normally works a weekday schedule, but may be required to work evenings, holidays, or weekends. May be required to travel overnight with or without notice.
Education/Experience:
An associate degree in business or a related field and four years of related experience in credit and collections are required. Applicable work experience and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education. Applicable additional education levels or relevant but not required certifications may be eligible to satisfy minimum experience requirements. Credit union experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU's chosen authority.
- Valid driver's license, maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
Keys to success:
In order to be successful as a Mortgage Liquidation Specialist, you must possess these qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other laws and procedures of the collection process.
- Knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code as it relates to foreclosure.
- Knowledge of court and legal procedures.
- Knowledge of the lending process, including delinquent real estate loan restructuring.
- Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), Veterans Administration (VA) collection procedures and foreclosure requirements.
- Knowledge of Oklahoma real estate procedures and related laws.
- Ability to maximize recovery in situations while maintaining positive member relations.
