About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Insurance Accountant with strong expertise in both STAT and GAAP accounting to support financial reporting and compliance in the Accident & Health insurance sector. This role involves preparing NAIC filings, managing reinsurance settlements, conducting premium tax reporting, and performing detailed reconciliations and analyses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements under STAT and GAAP
  • Complete NAIC quarterly and annual filings
  • Manage reinsurance settlement statements and premium tax filings
  • Perform variance, ratio, and trend analyses for management reporting
  • Reconcile cash and inter-company accounts; oversee bank reconciliations and ACH setup
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SAP, and regulatory requirements
  • Support process improvements and automation initiatives
Requirements
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (including 2+ years in insurance)
  • Must Have: STAT and GAAP accounting expertise required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (LOMA or insurance designation a plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills; QuickBooks experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
