TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Lafayette, Indiana, 47905 Pay Information $2,089 per week About The Position Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 1.5 Years License: Must have in-state license and required certifications in hand prior to start date Certifications: BLS required; NIHSS and ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Med/Surg experience - Experience with pre/post neurosurgery and total joint replacements - Required skills in trauma care and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias - Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse in a specialized unit. Candidates must have a minimum of 1.5 years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Certifications required include BLS. NIHSS and ACLS are preferred. Candidates must float as needed. In-state license and required certifications must be obtained prior to submission. The daily patient census averages around 34. The unit serves a variety of patient diagnoses, including orthopedic, GYN, urology, and neurosurgery cases. Common procedures include total joint replacements, continuous bladder irrigation, hysterectomy, and management of chest tubes. All medical diagnoses are included in the patient population served. Ideal candidates will be skilled in managing ports, administering blood products, and performing wound care. They must also be proficient in intravenous therapy and monitoring dysrhythmias. The unit has a staffing ratio of 1:5-6. Interdisciplinary support is available through various specialized teams. Candidates should be flexible and willing to support team efforts to ensure quality patient care.
