Position Overview
The Solar Laborer supports solar construction operations by performing general physical and manual tasks under the supervision of a foreman or superintendent. This position plays a vital role in maintaining productivity, efficiency, and safety on the job site by assisting skilled craft workers and ensuring work areas remain organized and hazard-free.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with the unloading, staging, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment.

Prepare work areas by clearing debris, leveling ground, and setting up necessary tools or supplies.

Support installation crews in assembling solar racking systems, modules, and electrical components.

Dig trenches, backfill, and assist with site grading as required.

Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of work areas to ensure a safe and organized job site.

Follow all company, site-specific, and OSHA safety standards and participate in daily safety meetings.

Assist skilled tradespeople as directed, including electricians, operators, and installers.

Perform other related duties as assigned to support project needs.
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous construction or solar experience is an asset but not required.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and construction practices.

Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or kneel for long periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
Preferred Qualifications

OSHA 10 certification.

Prior experience working on utility-scale solar or renewable energy projects.

NCCER Core or equivalent industry training.
