Inventory Management Specialist
Join our team as an Inventory Management Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy and efficiency for our store, including the pharmacy. You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring inventory best practices, supporting pharmacy inventory management activities, and guaranteeing on-shelf availability.
In this position, you will assist in receiving, counting, pricing, and processing returns while validating planogram accuracy. You will utilize various reports and system applications to support front-end and pharmacy inventory management, ensuring pricing and balances are accurate.
As a key player in asset protection, you will also handle claims related to warehouse and vendor shortages, overages, and damaged goods. In designated locations, you may perform store opening and closing duties in the absence of management, ensuring a smooth start to each business day.
Enhancing Customer Experience
Engage with customers by offering a warm welcome and assistance with their needs. When acting as the leader on duty, you will resolve customer concerns and answer questions, ensuring a positive experience. Share and model exceptional customer service practices to all team members.
Operational Excellence
You will coach team members on inventory management processes, including order creation, review, and receipt. All deliveries must be scanned during receipt, and you will troubleshoot any discrepancies efficiently. Collaborate with the pharmacist to verify pharmacy shipments and accurately report any issues.
Conduct the complete On-Shelf Availability process while executing disposals and vendor returns. In collaboration with the pharmacist, maintain accurate pharmacy inventory counts and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Mentor your team on pricing activities, maintaining accurate pricing, and managing inventory counts across various locations. You will also assist in preparing for and executing physical inventory day, ensuring readiness and organization.
Commitment to Development
Participate in company training and complete required e-learning modules to enhance your skills. Maintain any necessary pharmacy certification as required by the state.
Effective Communication
Be the communication bridge between management and your teammates, providing guidance in inventory systems and reporting operational concerns as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
- Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens or one year of retail experience.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Must have a positive performance review and no recent disciplinary actions (internal candidates only).
- Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience in identifying and resolving operational challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, or customer service associate is preferred.
- Previous employment with Walgreens is a plus, with evaluation on file.
