Verandah Pet Hospital is seeking a compassionate, curious, and team-oriented Associate Veterinarian to join our small but mighty general practice in East Fort Myers, Florida.

About the Hospital
  • Small animal GP (100% small animal; exotics optional if you're interested)
  • Four exam rooms + overflow/PTS room
  • Large, fully equipped surgery suite
  • Recently refreshed lobby and exam rooms
  • Paper-lite practice
  • Average of ~13 patients/day (fewer on surgery days)
  • 30-minute appointments, with flexibility for longer visits when needed
Equipment & Medical Capabilities

You'll have access to tools that support excellent medicine, including:
  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Therapeutic laser
  • M3 Dental Machine
  • Catalyst, ProCyte, Sedivue, Abaxis (including exotics capability)
  • AAHA-level monitoring protocols including capnography
  • In-house orthopedics and advanced soft tissue surgery
  • Access to a traveling boarded surgeon and boarded internal medicine specialist
Team & Support
  • Doctor-to-support staff ratio: 1 DVM : 1 technician : 1 assistant
  • One credentialed technician on staff
  • Strong emphasis on professional growth with CE allowance, conferences, and Vetcor University

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

Work-life balance isn't a buzzword here-it's how we operate.
  • 4-day workweek
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call
  • Flexible scheduling with surgery and appointment days built around doctor preference

New Graduates & Experienced DVMs Welcome

We are open to the right new graduate and offer mentorship from a long-term DVM who enjoys teaching and will remain on staff part-time (2-3 days/week). We're also happy to consider part-time veterinarians. Schedules and caseloads are customized to support confidence, growth, and longevity.
