Job Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Palos Park, IL 60464

Pay Rate: Starting at $55/hour

Shift: Full time

Description: We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Speech Language Pathologist dedicated to making a difference in the lives of elementary students. This school-based position in Palos Park, IL involves collaboration with educators, support staff, and families to facilitate tailored communication interventions.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with a range of low incidence disabilities, including cognitive impairments and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Ability to provide direct services to individuals and groups in both self-contained and general education settings.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and augmentative communication devices.
  • Skill in performing classroom observations to assess and enhance the language abilities of elementary-aged students.
  • Competence in utilizing a variety of tools and instruments to identify students' strengths and weaknesses.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively engage with team members and appropriately inform parents.
  • A collaborative spirit, working harmoniously with classroom teachers and other professionals.
  • A commitment to making evidence-based recommendations that support classroom learning.
  • The ability to adeptly resolve conflicts and navigate differing opinions.
  • A professional demeanor, ensuring responsibilities and tasks are completed promptly.
  • Proficiency in completing necessary IEP and evaluation paperwork while adhering to required procedures.
  • A collaborative approach to working with parents, private therapists, and other agencies to share information and resources.

Minimum Certification/License Requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology Endorsement.
