Job Title: Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: IUHS Wilson Medical Center& Johnson City, NY

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Contract Type: Full-time Insert Duration if Travel Contract

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join the oncology care team. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients undergoing radiation therapy, ensuring safety, comfort, and continuity of treatment throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients receiving radiation treatments.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in coordination with physicians and radiation therapists.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment procedures, side effects, and post-treatment care.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to therapy and communicate changes to the care team.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control standards within the radiation oncology department.
Requirements:
  • Active RN License (in good standing, in the state of assignment)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an acute care or oncology setting
  • Strong communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in Radiation Oncology or Oncology Nursing
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) credential preferred
Schedule & Environment:
  • Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • No weekends or holidays required
  • Collaborative and patient-focused environment
