Do you want to create and deliver innovative products for millions of customers around the world? We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to join the Echo/Alexa Product Management Finance team that plans for and develops new Echo devices. You will lead a team who partners closely with the Product Management teams to ideate, design, and assess the financial viability of new Echo devices that will feature Alexa and be used every day by people you know. This role will lead a portfolio of products.

The vision of Echo devices is to make the customer's real world more connected, engaging, delightful, and convenient through devices and experiences that offer the full breadth of Alexa capabilities. As the Senior Finance Manager leading the Product Management team, you will be a critical stakeholder in achieving this vision.

Key job responsibilities

  • Partner with finance and business users to determine and provide the metrics, reports, and analyses needed to manage the Echo/Alexa device portfolio.

  • Identify trade-offs that balance near-term priorities and investments with long-term benefits.

  • Develop scalable solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.

  • Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources and know how, when, and which to use.

  • Perform various ad hoc analyses to help business leaders solve business problems and understand the financial implications.

  • Lead the team that thinks through how to balance investments across a portfolio of products.

About the team

The Echo Product Management Finance team is a nimble team of four Finance professionals that manage and help develop the Echo portfolio. The team works alongside several other finance and business teams to achieve this vision, and rolls up to a wider Alexa Finance team that manages and develops the wider Alexa service that customers love and use on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 3+ years of performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools experience

  • 10+ years of positions that require analysis and reporting financial results experience

  • 8+ years of Accounts Receivable or Account Payable experience

  • 8+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 8+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • 8+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

  • 7+ years of directly managing and leading a team of 10+ members experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience

  • 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience

  • 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
