Certified Surgical Technician - 13 Week Contract Position

Schedule

This position operates on a 4-day work week, with shifts from 7 AM to 5 PM. Saturday shifts are required, and there is no call duty. The position may involve floating to a sister unit.

Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technician will assist in the care of surgical patients by managing instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures. The incumbent will have a strong understanding of the procedures being performed and will anticipate the needs of the surgeon, ensuring quality patient care throughout the operative procedures while maintaining a sterile field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical procedures, managing the necessary instruments and supplies effectively.
  • Understand the surgical procedures to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a sterile field before, during, and after procedures.
  • Follow the instructions of physicians and RNs, adhering to hospital policies related to the operating room.
  • Practice standard precautions to maintain a safe environment in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Must be a Certified Surgical Technician.
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Graduate from an accredited surgical technician program.
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs, and tolerate long periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking.
