Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse - Maternal Child Health role provides direct patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act for assigned patients in maternal child departments including Perinatology, LDR, Mother/Baby, LDRP and NICU. The nurse collaborates with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely and appropriate quality patient care. This includes providing physical assessments, nursing interventions, pain management, medication administrations, specimen collection, meeting nutritional and emotional needs, and education and discharge needs of the patients assigned. Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet patient care needs. Evaluates and adjusts the nursing care process as necessary with consultation as needed and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical/legal/medical dilemma decisions. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.

The Fudge Family Birthing Suites at Hoag Irvine reimagine pregnancy, delivery and recovery for modern families with private birthing suites. The new suites offer the ability to labor, deliver and recover in the same room as well as two C-section operating rooms and a nursery staffed 24/7 by an expert team, including OB/GYN hospitalists, midwives, board-certified anesthesiologists and neonatologists.
Schedule
- Positions currently available: Full Time and Part Time, 3rd Shift (Nights)
- Hours/Pay Period: 72 (Full Time), 48 (Part Time)
- Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (Night Shift : 7:00PM - 7:30AM)
Level I
- BSN required or BSN program started within one year of hire date and attained within two years of starting the BSN program
- 6 months of experience as labor and delivery RN required
- BSN required
- 1 year of experience as labor and delivery RN required

- National certification is required
- 3 years of experience as labor and delivery RN required
