Location:Finger Lakes Region, NY
Employment Type:Full-Time. Hiring for 2 positions.
Schedules Available:
Newark: Tues-Fri 8am-4pm, Sat 12-8pm
Clifton Springs: Tues 12pm - 8pm, Weds-Sat 8am - 4pm
Job Summary:
TheResidential Counselorprovides essential case management services to residents in FLACRA’s programs, supporting individuals in their recovery journey while aligning with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. This role includes client evaluations, service planning, and daily support to promote clients’ personal growth and independence.
Required Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling or CASAC-T certification (obtained or eligible).

Valid NYS Driver’s License.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Demonstrates composure in challenging situations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Health or Human Services.

Experience in a Behavioral Health setting.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and cooperation with colleagues and supervisors.

Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
-
Develop and implement comprehensive client evaluations, phone screenings, and individualized service plans, ensuring timely follow-up and modifications as needed.
-
Maintain accurate and compliant records in alignment with agency and OASAS regulations, policies, and procedures.
-
Facilitate discharge planning and activities according to established guidelines.
-
Provide counseling to residents, helping them develop interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
-
Collaborate with the program team to ensure coordination of treatment referrals, funding, and insurance coverage.

Assist clients with personal care, household chores, and daily living activities while promoting safety and community resource awareness.

Actively participate in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly living environment, including light cleaning as necessary.

Support clients with budgeting, grocery shopping, and meal preparation as outlined in their treatment plan.

Maintain positive relationships with community groups, referral sources, and service agencies.

Monitor and assist with the distribution of residents’ medications.

Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate responses to challenges and encouraging client growth.

Participate in agency meetings, in-service training, and supervisory sessions to support professional development.

Perform other duties as assigned to meet program needs.
