Night shift, working three 12-hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to nursing care plans. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, focusing on patient and employee safety while fulfilling their nursing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans based on collected data.
  • Identify patient/family education needs and goals, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team for effective care.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in accordance with policies.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on direct patient care and education.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
  • Communicate any changes in patient status to relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Contribute positively to unit dynamics, assisting in team-building efforts.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
  • PCU and Step-Down experience required.
  • Experience with ventilators and critical drips required.
