Job Summary
The Director of Strategic Procurement will spearhead the strategy, operations, and outputs of the SERVPRO Procurement Department and Preferred Vendor Group (a Group Purchasing Organization). This role is essential in fulfilling the commitments of both teams. The GPO manages a collective expenditure exceeding $95 million annually across over 110 vendors, while the Procurement team oversees all contracting and procurement tasks at the corporate headquarters. The primary mission of this position is to drive business results, enhance annual GPO revenue, and maximize profit margins on direct sale items.
You Will
- Oversee the growth and performance of a Group Purchasing Organization that serves an audience of over 2000 members.
- Define and support the strategic plan for the Preferred Vendor Group, empowering your team to promote vendor solutions effectively to our franchise network.
- Directly manage a motivated team, setting clear goals and fostering a results-driven environment.
- Conduct research and analyze market data to provide strategic insights for the Preferred Vendor Group.
- Build relationships with franchise customers to identify challenges related to non-labor costs, supply chain operations, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate across departments to assess new opportunities and optimize deal structures for business growth.
- Negotiate vendor agreements focused on maximizing revenue shares and volume discounts, balancing vendor and franchisee interests.
- Ensure vendor compliance, clearly communicating program requirements and standards.
- Track performance metrics for both your team and vendors, using data insights to inform strategies and bolster results.
- Resolve conflicts between franchises and vendors, aiming for understanding and implementing long-term solutions.
- Support divisional needs as required, collaborating with other departments to align resources for achieving corporate objectives.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with the division's annual convention/tradeshow efforts, ensuring its success in collaboration with the Tradeshow Manager.
- Educate corporate departments about the Preferred Vendor Group's offerings and scope.
- Develop and implement processes that align with strategic company goals and departmental initiatives.
- Lead best practices development and implementation within the team.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, striving to enhance service offerings and outcomes.
You Have
- A minimum of ten years of supervisory experience in purchasing or account management.
- Proficient in contract negotiations.
- Intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Capability to establish and measure Key Performance Metrics that drive efficient operations and analytics.
- Strong process management skills and experience in office workflow optimization; knowledge of Lean Six Sigma is a significant plus.
- A proven self-starter with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing P&L and understanding financial impacts on the organization.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Aptitude for making swift, informed decisions.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as necessary for job responsibilities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
