Inspector I is an entry-level role designed to build a strong foundation in inspection and quality processes. In this position, the inspector develops a working knowledge of how to inspect incoming materials from suppliers, in-process product, and finished assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, tolerances, internal procedures, and customer requirements.
The Inspector I plays a critical role in protecting product quality and integrity while learning how quality standards are applied across the manufacturing lifecycle. This role operates under the direct guidance and mentorship of a more senior inspector (Inspector II or above), providing structured development and hands-on experience in a controlled environment.
External candidates will receive a $1,000 sign on bonus.
What You Will Do:
- Learn how to coordinate and manage shipment of final product.
- Learn how to prepare to inspect by interpreting blueprints, data, and manuals to determine specifications, inspections and testing procedures.
- Review paperwork to ensure completion and accuracy of all documents including routers, flow card, First Articles, etc. with oversight
- Learn how to inspect product to verify conformance to specification of the parts by measuring dimensions using instruments such as gages, calipers, comparators micrometers, etc.
- Learn how to oversee customer requirements audit system.
- Works under immediate supervision. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
- Develops basic job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
- Tasks are routine/ repetitive in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.
- Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.
- Over 40 hours per week as scheduled to meet business needs.
- All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.

- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Inspection experience preferred
- Basic proficiency in shop math, geometry, and algebra.
- Basic proficiency with detailed drawings including geometric tolerances, dimensions, general features and blueprint reading.
- General computer skills (E-mail, internet, basic MS office including excel).
- Basic proficiency in verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to learn how to utilize gaging including attribute and variable gages.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of the Quality Management System, including internal requirements and procedures.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing knowledge including the techniques, tools, and principles and processes involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.
