Join our well-respected OR team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, and help us continue to provide innovative care for our patients around the globe. This is your chance to make a difference

Schedule Details:

Full-time evening shifts, typically 8 or 10 hours long. Schedule includes on-call duty, mainly at night, with some weekend responsibilities. On-call arrival requires promptness within 30 minutes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare sterile environments for surgeries, maintaining aseptic techniques and anticipating the Surgeons' needs.
  • Ensure the operating room is clean and organized, setting up equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Assist as a Second Assistant in various procedures, ensuring all needs are met during operations.
  • Maintain specialty carts, ensuring all items are in working condition and sterile.
  • Transport patients and equipment as needed, adhering to proper lifting techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles to provide age-appropriate care.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire.

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and aseptic techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain certifications as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands such as lifting and pushing.
  • Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards in a clinical setting.
  • Must possess functional sight and hearing capabilities.
