Job Summary
This position is responsible for performing nuclear medicine exams that provide images of organs and evaluate body functions, aiding physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. As a senior technologist, you will serve as a mentor and resource to staff, while also assisting management with supervisory tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Certificate in Basic or Advanced Life Support and current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) required
- Additionally, one of the following is required:
- Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- If performing diagnostic CT, Registered CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-CT) is also required
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Four (4) years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others to perform job functions
Principal Accountabilities
- Conduct nuclear medicine exams, including preparing patients, explaining procedures, and administering radioactive isotopes.
- Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients using imaging equipment while ensuring technical quality of images.
- Collect, prepare, and analyze biological specimens, preparing data for interpretation.
- Enter and monitor patient data efficiently.
- Perform quality assurance on imaging equipment and assist with accreditation applications.
- Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to management.
- Respond to emergency calls within the department.
- Provide safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all policies and budgetary specifications.
- Promote professional growth through education and skills competency to support organizational success.
