We're recruiting for an established design-build client in the Fort Wayne, IN area that specializes in industrial refrigeration and mechanical systems. They're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who can lead system design efforts, collaborate directly with clients, and help drive projects from concept through execution. Relocation support is available for the right person.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design ammonia, CO₂, and large hydronic piping systems for industrial facilities
  • Engage with clients to assess technical needs and develop solutions
  • Create cost estimates, detailed proposals, and technical presentations
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to identify the best equipment options
  • Oversee project scheduling and documentation
  • Support internal growth by mentoring junior staff and refining processes
What You Bring:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree preferred, or 10+ years of relevant design/build experience
  • Expertise in industrial refrigeration and HVAC component systems
  • Experience quoting, estimating, and planning technical projects
  • Familiarity with OSHA/EPA requirements and compliance standards
  • Team-focused, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
