Electrical Lab Test Technician

Vaco is helping a new client in the Peachtree Corners area find 2 new electrical lab technicians (both junior and senior levels available).  Lab Techs are responsible for testing and inspecting components and assemblies using calibrated equipment and following safety measures. Also, they are responsible to perform integration, repair and rework activities as needed.  Senior Lab Techs should also have electrical assembly experience (not required for junior lab technicians).  We have 2 roles available (one senior and one junior) and the salary can range from $60,000 - $85,000 and an excellent benefits package.

Also if you are out of the area (US applicants only), our client may be open to a sign-on bonus to help with relocation.  

Other Important notes about this role:

- Minimal travel will be required (all expenses paid)
-  This is a 5 days a week onsite role and flexibility is going to be required  For example, overtime (paid) and later hours could be warranted when our client's customers have deadlines.

- In order to be considered, qualified applicants must have prior experience in an electrical lab (or closely related in a non electrical lab performing electrical type work) setting

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of complex projects and solve technical problems
• Perform required testing using calibrated measurement and electrical/mechanical test equipment in a safe manner 
• Review item information, documentation, and technical data during test and inspection activities.  
• Plan and set up the test equipment in correct and safe manner and determine the validity of the test results. 
• Communicate with Engineers and QA, obtain necessary technical and quality information 
• Read and understand technical documentation, such as datasheets, drawings, test procedures, equipment manuals, etc.
• Communicate with Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure that all project requirements are met
• Identify and report equipment and process problems, and advise on possible solutions
• Research test methods and identify test equipment needs
• Act as a technical resource for customers , vendors, and internal staff when required
• Perform repair and rework of equipment as directed
• Assemble, wire, and test control panels following drawings, schematics, and procedures
• Provide quality control oversight of work performed at vendor sites

Requirements

• Associate Degree in a technical field (or equivalent military training), or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Must have experience in electrical/mechanical components and assemblies testing and repairs (looking for a problem solver)
• Must have experience in reading  and understanding technical datasheets/Manuals/drawings/schematics
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication, Panel Integration, Welding and Soldering is preferred
• Understanding electronic database usage and provide necessary input to provide current status and accurate information
• Ability to follow instructions and work under strict quality controls
• Ability to learn new skills and dedication to training, development, and continuous improvement
• Experience with quality assurance programs is a plus

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
