What You'll Do
As Recovery Support Specialist, you will:
- Provide direct support to youth and families in homes and the community.
- Complete CRA/ACC training and implement the SSTRY model, including all ACC requirements.
- Administer SBIRT assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
- Maintain at least one weekly contact with each assigned youth.
- Collaborate with youth and families to assess readiness for change and set achievable goals.
- Connect youth and families to case management and community-based supports.
- Maintain timely, accurate records including service plans, contacts, and discharge plans.
- Engage youth who may be resistant to participation using motivational strategies.
- Participate in program meetings, trainings, and community events.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and maintain professional boundaries.
- Maintain professionalism, uphold agency policies, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for families and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program success.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in behavioral health with adolescents or transitional age youth, including case management.
- Knowledge of youth substance use, recovery, and behavioral health challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and external partners.
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting, standing, walking, bending, and other physical tasks as needed.
- Potential exposure to bodily fluids and other environmental hazards in a residential and community-based setting
