Quality Manager
We are looking for a proven Quality & Inspection leader - someone who can step into our shop on Day One, assess the operation, and immediately take control of Quality execution and Inspection discipline.
What's the Job?
You will own Quality Assurance and Inspection, end-to-end.
This is a lead-from-the-front role. You will set standards, enforce them, and ensure Quality operates at the speed of production - without sacrificing compliance or accuracy.
Quality Leadership (System + Execution)
-
Take full ownership of the Quality function - no babysitting, no hand-holding
-
Drive real QMS performance (AS9100-aligned) - not paperwork for its own sake
-
Lead corrective action, root cause, containment, and prevention with urgency and effectiveness
-
Hold the team accountable to clear expectations and measurable results
-
Act as the senior Quality authority for customer issues, escapes, and audit responses
-
Communicate directly and confidently with leadership, production, and customers
Inspection Leadership (Hands-On Authority Required)
-
Own receiving, in-process, and final inspection performance
-
Set and enforce inspection standards - blueprint interpretation, GD&T application, documentation quality
-
Personally understand and validate inspection decisions when required
-
Ensure AS9102 FAIs are done correctly, completely, and on time
-
Establish a culture where inspection supports flow - not bottlenecks or confusion
FARO Arm Expertise (Non-Negotiable)
-
You must know how to properly align, verify, and use a FARO Arm
-
You must be capable of troubleshooting FARO results and validating inspection output
-
You are expected to standardize FARO usage, methods, and reporting
-
This role cannot depend on "one FARO guy" - you are the authority
This role is for someone who:
-
Sees a weak Quality operation and fixes it
-
Leads without waiting for permission
-
Is technically respected because they know inspection and QA cold
-
Moves fast, sets expectations, and holds people accountable
-
Is comfortable stepping in when something is wrong - and stopping bad product
What's Needed?
-
10+ years Quality experience in aerospace manufacturing (precision machining required)
-
Proven leadership experience (Manager / Supervisor / Lead)
-
Expert-level blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation
-
Strong hands-on inspection background (not just system oversight)
-
FARO Arm competency - alignment, probing strategy, validation, reporting
-
AS9100 experience with real-world execution (not just audits)
-
Ability to work at production pace without sacrificing quality
