Warehouse /Material Handler Team Member

Location: Newark, CA

Salary range: $21-$24/HR DOE

Variable schedule, start time 6am

Qualifications:

  • Material handling experience (Sit down)

  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured (as needed)

  • Math skills for calculating load requirements

  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and work extended hours as business needs

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (not required)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, deadline-driven, continuous improvement behaviors

  • Able to lift 50 pounds

  • Data entry, math and computer skills

  • Forklift experience and able to maintain certifications on equipment, like forklift certification or pallet jack training, where required

Responsibilities

  • As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in maintaining organization within the warehouse or production facility

  • You will assist warehouse operations, which include stocking, moving materials or stock, loading/unloading trucks and climbing up and down ladders

  • You will also prepare materials for shipping/receiving

  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs

  • Use hand trucks, pallet jacks or other equipment to move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or shipping/receiving areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers

  • Loading and unloading vehicles

  • Address and report equipment defects or maintenance needs, ensuring safe and efficient use

  • Follow all procedures and know the equipment before using it

  • Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts

  • Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures

  • Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment

  • Maintain a safe work environment by sweeping and disposing of scrap or other items

  • May perform special continuous improvement projects as needed

  • Other duties may be assigned depending on business needs

Pay Details: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour
