POSITION TITLE: Receiving Associate

DEPARTMENT: Grocery

REPORTS TO: Store Director, District Manager, and Automated Ordering Specialist

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The Receiving Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate reception of merchandise. This position involves checking in all deliveries to confirm that they meet quality standards and correctly processing any necessary credits for items that need to be returned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a precise Vendor Receiving Log.
  • Verify all grocery shipments against vendor invoices to ensure quantity, quality, and pricing accuracy.
  • Process credits according to company policy promptly.
  • Accurately check in all deliveries.
  • Handle damaged or spoiled products in accordance with company policy.
  • Conduct all in-store transfers accurately.
  • Manage vendor traffic entering and exiting the receiving area effectively.
  • Adhere to the Vendor Discrepancy Program.
  • Utilize the Visitor Badge Program to uphold security protocols.
  • Assist with billing via Direct Store Delivery (DSD) and ensure accurate invoicing.
  • Maintain door security through a door seal log.
  • Stay vigilant to prevent unauthorized access in the receiving area.
  • Follow all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Keep the back room and dock area clean and organized.
  • Participate in programs such as Honest Mistake, Scan-Rite, and UPC Programs.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Store Director.
  • Perform inspections of fire extinguishers and exits.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to manage large skids of groceries.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure effective filing of vendor invoices.
