Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to ensure high-quality nursing care in the operating room. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing direct patient care and monitoring.
- Scrubbing in and assisting during surgical procedures.
- Maintaining the operating room and preparing it for upcoming surgeries.
- Documenting clinical data accurately in medical records.
- Collaborating closely with the nursing staff on clinical decisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Rotating to various ambulatory surgery center facilities as needed.
- Performing specialized technical skills for surgical technologists as outlined by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
- Preparing the surgical area by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready and sterile.
- Contributing to maintaining a sterile environment during procedures.
- Assisting with room turnover and ensuring cleanliness between surgeries.
- Setting up for future surgical days by organizing equipment and supplies.
Qualifications Required:
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
- A minimum of one year experience in an operating room, preferably at an ambulatory surgery center.
- Current BCLS Certification (online certifications are not accepted).
